Professor Bowen's research on completion rates, undermatching, and the unique vulnerabilities of middle-income and modest-circumstance students gave me a clearer understanding of the systemic challenges facing our industry — and a sharper sense of how the work we do at the classroom and program level contributes to national outcomes.
The shift from theory to personal application through the leadership legacy exercise was particularly valuable. Being asked to reflect on my career, identify the themes that have shaped me, and write a legacy statement moved this from an academic exercise into a personal one.
