Module 1: Introduction, Timelines & Service
- Develop an understanding of the Financial Aid office in a Career College.
- Identify key websites available to Financial Aid Officer's and students. (OSAP, FAO portal, Canlearn, SSB etc.)
- Recognize the timeframe by which a student has to apply, submit documentation and receive funding.
- Remove obstacles for a student not only enrolling in your institution, but completing the program and becoming supportive alumni.
Module 2: Financial Aid Processing
- Develop an understanding of the student's responsibilities.
- Explain the institutional responsibilities.
- Develop an understanding of the OACC Financial Aid office.
Module 3: Procedures, Reports & Notifications
- Explain the eligibility requirements and identify procedures and common required documentation & supporting documentation.
- Develop an understanding what the student's responsibilities are before, during and after completing their program.
- Recognize your responsibility as a Financial Aid Officer before, during and after a student completes their program.
Module 4: Financial Aid Office Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of the performance requirements.
- Identify the audit guidelines and understand their importance.
- Describe how default rates are issued and ways to help manage them.
- Recognize the key deadlines associated with financial aid offices.
