ED102 - Student Retention Methods
Facilitator: Dr. Gary Meers
The instructor is the real key to student retention at career colleges. Instructors must keep focused on student motivation and retention each and every day of class. Developing strategies for retaining students throughout the entire training sequence is both complex and rewarding. All instructors should have the goal of seeing all of their students successfully complete their class. This course helps you reach that goal by helping you to understand your students and use proven motivation and retention techniques to keep them enrolled and engaged in the learning process.

Testimonials:
I really enjoy teaching and all this info helps so much, it is very reassuring that my school is not the only one with sometimes difficult students.
I was very hesitant to take an online course because I am an auditory learner, but I found that this worked well. I actually found myself going back to the forums to see if there were any additional comments.
I thoroughly enjoyed this class. I printed out some of the information so I could go back and study it again. There was a wealth of information that was given that I certainly will be able to use.
I feel refreshed and ready for next quarter!!!
My job requires a lot of my time and I thank you for letting me extend this course. I am a vocational nursing program director, I teach, supervise other instructors and make sure all students in my program are successful. This course helps me in making sure all my students meet their needs. I would recommend this website to all my colleagues. Thank you, Anne
I have taught in a university for 19 years, and felt this was an excellent program! I thoroughly enjoyed the content and suggestions throughout the course.
I really enjoyed the content and material presented in this program. I believe that it is very beneficial to anyone teaching who has not had teacher training and even those who have.
The course was informative. It reinforced what I already learned from work experience and introduced more concepts.
I now have some good ideas to try in my online class next quarter to help increase interaction among the students and build a sense of community that will hopefully improve retention.
This was very good. It gave me tips when I go back in the class, I will have more ideas and be more active in teaching.
I enjoyed the content as well as discovering the areas I can improve on. In addition, I was provided with additional tools to assist me.
